I can’t get this song out of my head this morning—easily the best song ever written about an Arquette. Jeff Porcaro’s drum groove is probably my favorite in pop music history and the biggest reason I wish I was a drummer. It’s a mix of John Bonham’s “Fool in the Rain” shuffle and Bernard Purdy’s “Babylon Sisters” half-time groove. And Steve Lukather’s original guitar solo was one of those great first take studio moments in guitar history, alongside Elliott Easton’s work on “Reeling in the Years” and Jimmy Page’s solo from “Stairway to Heaven”. 80’s sounds aside, make no mistake: Toto was and is still a VERY talented group of LA studio giants.

My friend Jon and I got to talking about this tune last night and I subsequently made myself late to work learning the guitar solo. There are a lot of valid ways to play the guitar, but I still love a good guitar hero moment. If anyone wants to start a really awesome 80’s cover band, I’m in. Enjoy.
